Akesato Ito☆Ranch is located in the beautiful landscape of the vast Nenkushiro Plains, reminiscent of Europe. The restaurant offers a menu that focuses on ingredients such as steaks from Japanese Shorthorn Wagyu beef raised in-house, and the adjoining general merchandise and café offers fashionable and cute products that create a "farming" lifestyle, as well as popular soft-serve ice cream with a rich flavor made from the company's own pasteurized milk.

SPOT 2Bettoga Pass

Five dairy farmers from Atsutoko to Bettoga in Nemuro City have established the Nemuro Footpath, believing that valuing and conveying the local landscape, climate, history, lifestyle, and nature will lead to a better understanding of the region. One of the footpaths, the Bettoga Footpath, is a path that leads to a precipitous cliff overlooking the Pacific Ocean, passing through natural forests and marshlands, and preserving a strong sense of the original landscape. The beautiful scenery, which is hard to believe is in Japan, is well worth a visit.

SPOT 3Old Okugyusu Station

旧奥行臼駅逓所1

Ekimusu (station) was a facility equipped with station buildings, men and horses, etc., and used to transport goods and to provide lodging in areas where transportation was inconvenient in modern Hokkaido. It is a nationally designated historical site and a transportation heritage site that played an important role as a transportation hub for the development of areas where railroads were not yet developed. Adjacent to the site, you can also see the railroad heritage of Okugyusu Station on the former Shibetsu Line of the Japan National Railways and the remains of the former Betsukai Village track.

SPOT 4Kiritappu Marsh

霧多布湿原1

Kiritappu Marshland is one of the Ramsar Convention registered wetlands, and from May to August, various flowers such as Ezoensis and Ezo Kanzo are in full bloom depending on the season. 4 wooden paths are provided for walking. Trekking on walking skis is also possible in winter. The Kiritappu Marshland Center offers a panoramic view of the vast marshland and provides information on the marshland's attractions and information.

One of the most popular delicacies along this route is "Oysters of Atsugishi". At Michi-no-Eki: Atsugishi Gourmet Park, you can enjoy various menus such as "Escal" restaurant which offers a wide variety of dishes from Japanese to Western cuisine, "Charcoal Grill Aburiya" where you can enjoy barbecue by yourself, and "Oyster Bar Pitoresque" where you can enjoy oysters with whiskey produced in Atsugishi.

Scenic Byways is an initiative by local residents, working hand in hand with businesses and government agencies, to create unique and vibrant communities, landscapes, and attractive tourist spaces.
The program started in 2005, and as of the end of December 2019, there are 13 designated routes and 3 candidate routes, with approximately 440 organizations involved in activities.
