CocoLi: A Healing Space Welcomed by Sheep

CocoLi

CocoLi appears unexpectedly on a quiet road, making you wonder, "Is this the place?"

The small bagel shop "CocoLi" is a soothing space where sheep greet you with a gentle "baa." It shares its premises with the coffee shop "Hajime" and the apparel shop "noumu." All three shops share the same entrance, making you feel a sense of excitement as you step inside. Upon entering, you're greeted by a curated selection of apparel. To the right, you'll find the home-roastery coffee shop "Hajime" and "CocoLi." The atmosphere created by these three shops is incredibly comfortable, perfect for a holiday visit. The warm, wood-filled, white-themed interior and the scenery outside the window evoke a distinct Hokkaido feeling.

The bagels are made with plenty of Hokkaido-sourced ingredients and are free from eggs, oil, and dairy. They are also additive-free. Delicious and healthy—it's the best of both worlds. The owner's journey into bagel-making began with the desire to feed her husband and children something delicious and wholesome. While the shop is primarily for takeout, there are seats outside, so on a nice day, you can relax and enjoy your treats on the terrace.

Enjoy Them at Events Across Hokkaido and via Mail Order

Good news for those who live far from Otofuke Town. CocoLi started as a pop-up at events, and even after opening a physical store, the owner continues to participate with a special passion. "Many people in Tokachi look forward to events, so I hope to continue being a part of everyone's special holiday moments by participating," says owner Shiori Hogi.

In recent years, she has been setting up shop at many events outside of Tokachi, with increasing opportunities to find her at department store events in Sapporo, like Daimaru and Marui Imai, as well as outdoor festivals. CocoLi also offers a delivery service called "Itsudemo Iiyo Bin" (Anytime Delivery), a random assortment of 10 bagels that you can order through their Instagram. Be sure to check their event schedule!

The creator of these delicious bagels is the charmingly cheerful Shiori-san. "Baked goods were on the menu from the beginning, but as we received more invitations to events, we expanded our lineup," she says. Recently, her baked goods selection has been growing. A particular highlight is the "Yeast Scone," which has a delightfully crunchy and crumbly texture. This is Shiori-san's top recommendation and a must-try when you visit.

The "Basque Cheesecake," available only on "+ Dolce Days," is especially popular.

Fridays and Saturdays are "+ Dolce Days." On these days, you can also find dessert items like "Tiramisu," made with a decaf blend from the adjacent coffee shop "Hajime," and "Chocolate Terrine." Both the bagels and baked goods have a heartwarming, gentle deliciousness. While it's best to eat them right away, they also freeze well, making them a great souvenir or gift♪
