Maruyama Zoo will be open during the first three days of the New Year to welcome visitors. In honor of this year's zodiac animal, the Snake (巳), there will be an exhibition on the ecology of snakes and the ones kept at the zoo. From January 1 (Wed) to 3 (Fri), free ema (votive wooden plaques) with snake illustrations will be distributed to the first 250 visitors each day. Additionally, on the following week from January 11 (Sat) to 13 (Mon), there will be a mini-quiz about snakes with prizes to be won.
