In recent years, the potential for "creative work" in the welfare field has been attracting attention. This time, collaboration goods featuring "Snow Miku's" pet rabbit "Yukine" will be on sale from February 7, 2025 (Friday) at the antenna shop "Genki Shop Iko-ru", which displays and sells products from the disability support office.

In this initiative, 24 welfare facilities across the country are participating, making use of their individuality and skills to produce original goods. By fusing welfare and creativity, it goes beyond the scope of simple "support" and creates new opportunities for people with disabilities without discrimination.

What is "Genki Shop Ikoru"?

Genki Shop Ikoru, located in the west concourse of JR Sapporo Station, sells warm, handmade items made at over 170 offices and facilities for people with disabilities, both in Sapporo and outside Hokkaido. The shop offers a wide range of warm items, from food items such as jams and cookies to soaps, pottery, leather products, and fabric products.

This is the second collaboration between Rabbit Yukine and Genki Shop Iko-ru, following their first in 2022. For this project, 24 businesses from across the country participated in the call for design drawings and project proposals! Using their respective creativity, they produced a variety of Yukine-themed items.

In addition, the popular "Yukine Gacha" from the previous collaboration is also making a comeback! Figures made by members of "JISTO," a 3D printer team made up of muscular dystrophy patients hospitalized at Hokkaido Medical Center, and members of "Kids Terrace," a developmental support organization in Otaru, will be available as capsule toys for 500 yen each.

What is "Rabbit Yukine"?

Yukine was born through a public contest as the pet character of "Snow Miku (Hatsune Miku)," a character created by Crypton Future Media, Inc. to support Hokkaido. Her name was decided on November 11, 2013, and since then, November 11 has been celebrated as "Yukine Day." Her motif is the Siberian hare, an animal that lives in Hokkaido, and Yukine is currently participating in various initiatives to promote Hokkaido on her own, expanding the scope of her support by serving as an ambassador. She is also active as a tourism ambassador for Sapporo.
