The Sapporo Snow Festival is a major winter event that attracts over 2 million people from Japan and abroad every year. It will be held for eight days from February 4th (Tuesday) to February 11th (Tuesday, national holiday) 2025 in various locations around Sapporo, including the Odori venue. One of the most notable spots is the commemorative snow sculpture for My Melody's 50th anniversary and Kuromi's 20th anniversary, which will be installed at the 11th-chome International Plaza (east side) of the Odori venue. It is sure to attract a lot of attention from fans as well as tourists visiting the snow festival.

A collaboration between snow sculptures of My Melody & Kuromi and Snow Miku!
In addition to the snow sculptures, you can also enjoy a special light-up. Next to the "My Melody 50th Anniversary & Kuromi 20th Anniversary" snow sculpture, there is a snow sculpture of "Snow Miku", a character that supports Hokkaido, called "Snow Miku Crystal Snow Ver." At night, these two snow sculptures collaborate and are lit up in a fantastical way.

This light-up will feature a performance that matches Hatsune Miku's cover of the song "KAWAII FESTIVAL" from the "Miracle Gift Parade" currently being performed at Sanrio Puroland, as well as "Crystal Snow," the theme song of "SNOW MIKU 2025," a festival in which "Snow Miku" supports Hokkaido.
This light-up utilizes "COUGEN," a PC application developed by Crypton Future Media that uses music (MIDI) to directly control lighting (DMX), allowing you to enjoy a one-of-a-kind performance in which light and sound are synchronized.

About "Snow Miku" https://snowmiku.com/
A character created by Crypton Future Media, Inc. to support Hokkaido. It was born when a pure white snow sculpture of Hatsune Miku (https://piapro.net/pages/character) was made at the Sapporo Snow Festival in 2010. Since then, the festival "SNOW MIKU", starring Snow Miku, has been held every year in Hokkaido. The costume design for Snow Miku at the festival is chosen based on a theme each year, and the theme for 2025 has been decided as "Sparkling Snow Material". Currently, she serves as an ambassador for various initiatives to promote Hokkaido, and is expanding her support in many areas, such as collaborating with companies and characters. She has also been active as a Sapporo Tourism Ambassador since September 2024.
