What is the Asahikawa Sweets Expo 2025?

The "Asahikawa Sweets Expo 2025" is the 28th National Sweets Grand Exposition, Japan's largest sweets event, held in Asahikawa, Hokkaido from May 30th to June 15th, 2025. It's packed with excitement related to sweets from all over the country, including confectionery craft displays, a sweets market, and hands-on booths for the whole family to enjoy.
Asahikawa Taisetsu Arena: Featuring the Large-scale Confectionery Craft Exhibition and an immersive 360° Projection Mapping Symbol Exhibition
The main venue, Asahikawa Taisetsu Arena, will feature the "Large-scale Confectionery Craft Exhibition." Visitors will be greeted by about 90 intricate confectionery crafts made from rice flour, sugar, chocolate, and more.

Additionally, inside the White Dome at the venue, a powerful 360° projection mapping show will be screened. Enjoy an immersive experience surrounded by giant displays.
Asahikawa Local Industry Promotion Center: The Nationwide Sweets Market with about 1,000 local sweets from across Japan
At the "Nationwide Sweets Market" in the Asahikawa Local Industry Promotion Center, located just across the road from the main venue, you'll find a grand collection of sweets from all over Japan! This space is a paradise for sweets lovers, offering a wide lineup from region-exclusive treats and trendy sweets to historic confections. Be sure to pick up some interesting sweets you can't usually buy, as well as new and limited-edition products.

There are plenty of events outside the main venue too! "Sweets Family Land Hokkaido," hosted by major confectionery manufacturers, is full of experiences for both adults and children. You can learn how sweets are made through games and activities, and meet popular characters from each company.

Also outdoors, the "Northern Land Gourmet Corner" features a lineup of Hokkaido's gourmet food stalls and sweets! You can enjoy delicious, freshly made food in the dining area. In addition to a rich lineup of stalls offering soft-serve ice cream, event-exclusive sweets, Asahikawa ramen, and local beer, there will also be daily rotating food trucks. If you get tired from walking around the venue, why not take a break with some delicious food?
