"The prices are crazy" Crab for 100 yen!? Kushiro's local supermarket shocks people: "I want to go to Eastern Hokkaido"
Come to Hokkaido (especially the east) 🦀

Quoted from @nagi0467's post
The supermarket poster advertised chestnut crabs for just 100 yen each! Chestnut crabs are a type of crab caught in Hokkaido, and look just like hairy crabs. Although they may be small, they are meaty and delicious, but they have not been widely available in the market for a long time, and have mainly been eaten as a "staff meal" by fishermen. The surprisingly low price of the crabs has resulted in comments on social media such as "The price is crazy," "It's amazing in this day and age," and "I want to go to Eastern Hokkaido."
The charm of Eastern Hokkaido from the perspective of an immigrant
The post was made by Kohei Yagira, a high school teacher who moved to Kushiro for work. He takes photos of the vibrant wildlife and natural scenery of the area and posts them on social media. His photos convey the charm of Kushiro that can only be seen from the perspective of Yagira, a newcomer to the area.

Besides chestnut crab, Yagira-san said, "I was impressed by the deliciousness of Nemuro's pacific saury sashimi, the deliciousness of Betsukai's Hokkai shrimp, the size of the jumbo scallops, and the culture of eating salmon in Shibetsu's salmon ruibe and rice sushi." There seems to be plenty more to discover in the towns of Eastern Hokkaido.
