Captivated by Fluffy White Snow! "Children and Snow in Kaminokuni Town" & More [Hokkaido Mirai Note (48)]
"Hokkaido Mirai Note" is a project that collects photos of Hokkaido's scenery to be preserved for the future.
From the wonderful Hokkaido scenes photographed and submitted by all of you, we will introduce three carefully selected posts again this time!
Children and Snow in Kaminokuni Town
Kaminokuni Town, in Southern Hokkaido. A parent and child had a blast rolling around in the deep snow and building snow mountains.
It's a town where even children who grew up in this snowy country can enjoy this season when they become adults.

What a joyful photo, with the kicked-up snow shining in the sun!
Building snowmen, making snow huts, sledding on rice bags, snowball fights... snow is the ultimate toy that you can never get tired of!
The Domingo team has recently been into photographing snowflakes. It's fascinating how their shapes differ depending on the temperature, humidity, and wind strength!
Snowfield and Footprints in Fukagawa City
On an early morning hill, I encountered a beautiful and serene scene. I wonder what kind of adventure the owner of these endless footprints is on now.

This is a wonderful photo that lets you feel the magnificence of nature while imagining the owner of the footprints!
By observing the tracks left in the snow, you can read the strength and speed of walking, the direction and strength of the wind, and the temperature changes throughout the day. While heavy snow can be a hassle for shoveling and driving, we want to discover new ways to enjoy it.
Train and Bridge in Kushiro City
Seeing it powerfully advance over the swaying lotus leaf ice is always exciting, no matter how many times I see it.

A stunningly beautiful photo showing the contrast between the powerful train and tracks and the delicate ice floating on the Kushiro River!
The term "Hasuhagori" (lotus leaf ice), pronounced "ha-su-ha-go-o-ri," refers to a state where chunks of ice collide, causing their edges to curl up, resembling a dense cluster of floating lotus leaves. This is a beautiful sight that can only be seen here, and the Domingo team wants to see it with our own eyes!
