A new movement linking welfare and creativity is spreading from Sapporo, Hokkaido. Genki Shop Ikoru, a shop that supports people with disabilities, and Rabbit Yukine, a mascot that supports Hokkaido, have teamed up again. The third collaborative product, featuring designs created by businesses across the country, will be released in February 2026.

Genki Shop Ikoru is located on the first floor of the west concourse of JR Sapporo Station.

Genki Shop Ikoru, located in the west concourse of JR Sapporo Station, is an antenna shop selling products made by businesses for people with disabilities both in and outside Sapporo. Jams, baked goods, pottery, leather goods, and other carefully handcrafted products are lined up, delivering kindness and warmth to all who visit.

In 2022, Ikoru began collaborating with Yukine the rabbit, the pet of Snow Miku, a character that supports Hokkaido, as part of the "Genki Shop Ikoru x Rabbit Yukine Collaboration Project." Since then, the project has continued, soliciting Yukine-themed designs from businesses across the country and turning selected designs into products. This is an initiative that aims to communicate the expressions and thoughts of people with disabilities to society through manufacturing.

Design drawings were exhibited at the pre-event held at Chi Ka Ho on Monday, November 10th.

This is the third installment of the contest, and we are calling for submissions based on the theme of "SNOW MIKU 2026," "Happy Patisserie." A total of 87 original designs were submitted from 17 businesses across the country.

After a screening process, the winning designs will be selected and released in February 2026 as new products, including food, miscellaneous goods, and clothing. They will be sold at Genki Shop Ikoru inside JR Sapporo Station and online at Omusubi. This is a collection that will bring a smile to the faces of both those who pick up the products and those who make them.

The encounter between "Rabbit Yukine" and warm handiwork has led to the birth of a new form of manufacturing. People with disabilities have used their own sensibilities to create new Yukine goods, which will be available at "Icool" in Sapporo Station in February 2026.
