A New Urban Oasis in Sapporo's Susukino! A Deep Dive into the Hot New Spot "goodsauna & spa SAPPORO"
An "Urban Oasis" for a Stay as Long as You Like
Born in Susukino's landmark, "COCONO SUSUKINO"
"goodsauna & spa SAPPORO" opened with the concept of "Refresh. Circulate. Hokkaido," creating a place where not just sauna lovers but a wide range of people can enjoy a long, relaxing stay. The two-story lounge spanning the 3rd and 4th floors is a tranquil space where light and shadow intertwine. Open 23 hours a day from 11:00 AM to 10:00 AM the next day, it's also a great option for a rest when you've missed the last train or bus.
The space was designed by architect Taichi Kuma
Charging spots are installed throughout, and with free Wi-Fi, it can also be used as a co-working space.
Each chair conveniently has a USB port
The semi-private "cocoon booths" can be used freely, whether for taking a nap without worrying about your surroundings or for lounging around and reading from the lounge's collection of over 1,000 manga.
There are 22 "cocoon booths" in the co-ed space and 10 in the women-only area
In the dining lounge, you can enjoy complimentary items like original blend coffee, herbal teas, light meals such as fried rice and pilaf, and Hokkaido-related snacks and drinks.

Deep Relaxation in an Authentic Sauna Supervised by the "Totonoé Oyakata" Sauna Master
Pictured are the men's "Waterwheel Sauna" (left) and the women's "Herb Sauna" (right)
The pride of the facility is its sauna, designed under the supervision of Dai Matsuo, a legend in the Japanese sauna world known as "Totonoé Oyakata" (The Master of 'Totonou' - a state of deep relaxation). Every detail, including temperature, humidity, and lighting, has been meticulously crafted to create a relaxing space. The men's area features a "Waterwheel Sauna" (approx. 90°C). A waterwheel slowly rotates, sending water onto the stones to create löyly (steam), allowing you to experience a signature sauna with solid humidity and powerful heat.
The "totonoi space" features Lafuma chairs, highly praised by sauna enthusiasts
The "Red Cedar Sauna," with a slightly lower temperature (approx. 80°C), is a relaxing space filled with the scent of red cedar wood and herbs. Since you can spend a long, leisurely time inside, it's also known as the "Meditation Sauna."
The cold plunge baths, essential for any sauna experience, are also special. The men's hinoki cypress cold plunge maintains a natural temperature of 16°C to 20°C year-round without extra cooling. The other men's cold plunge is set at 13.5°C. The women's cold plunge is a "Hagoromo (angel's robe) cold plunge," set at 16.5°C as advocated by the "Totonoé Oyakata." This temperature perfectly tightens your heated body, maximizing the refreshing feeling after a sauna.
The men's bathing area also has a hinoki cypress cold plunge filled with groundwater
The baths are herbal baths filled with plenty of Hokkaido-grown herbs
Gently Warm Up in Two Types of Co-ed "Ganbanyoku" Hot Stone Spas
A seated hot stone spa. The low temperature allows you to warm your body slowly and thoroughly.
The co-ed lounge offers two types of ganbanyoku (hot stone spas). One is a seated type with a temperature of about 60°C. You can warm your body to the core in a room fragrant with herbs.
The other is a hot stone spa where you can lie down on a towel placed over heated stones. This one has an even lower temperature of 50°C, but the far-infrared effect from the heated bedrock promotes sweating. Both can be used by men and women together, making it perfect for spending a relaxing time with a partner.

The original lounge wear was co-created with "CLASKA," a brand that designs its own apparel and goods. With a focus on breathability and texture, it makes your stay even more comfortable. A variety of other amenities are also provided, so you can visit empty-handed.
The simply designed lounge wear is available to rent for free
This new spot in the heart of Sapporo allows for a stress-free stay. Be sure to check it out.
