Coal Mine Heritage in Harmony with Nature. Ashibetsu Railway (Ashibetsu City), etc. [Hokkaido Mirai Note (53)

Hokkaido Mirai Notebook" is a collection of Hokkaido's scenery that you would like to leave for the future.
Here are three of the best photos of Hokkaido's beautiful scenery taken and submitted by our readers!

Ashibetsu Railway (Ashibetsu City)

There's a place like this in Ashibetsu! I was told about it by an acquaintance.
For me, it is a wonderful place that I got to know because of the connections I made with people.
I want to enjoy the charming scenery that changes with spring, summer, fall and winter♪

City, Town and Village where the photo was taken: Ashibetsu City

A word from the Domingo editorial team
The red of the railway track blends in with the blue of the sky and the pure white of the snow, creating a picture where you can feel technology, history, and nature at the same time!
This red bridge is the "former Mitsui Ashibetsu Railway Coal Mine River Bridge," which was used from 1945 to 1989 as a dedicated coal transportation line.
The diesel locomotive and coal wagons preserved and exhibited on the bridge as part of the coal mining heritage are in harmony with nature!

Hut and Mt. Yotei (Kutchan Town)

It was mid-March, the asphalt under my feet was dry, but there was a tall layer of snow left in the field, spread with snow-melting agent. And beyond that, Mt! I watched for a while, thinking about the beautiful symmetry of Mt. Yotei from here.

A word from the Domingo editorial team
The light shining through the clouds illuminates Mt!
Mt. Yotei, also known as "Ezo Fuji," is an independent peak with a beautiful lower peak.
The shape of Mt. Yotei changes slightly depending on which direction you view it from, so it is best to find your favorite angle while enjoying the drive.

Ezo squirrel (Ashibetsu City)

I wondered if he was always watching over the town like this, and it was kind of heartwarming to see a different side of Ezo-Squirrel.

A word from the Domingo editorial department
This is a very relaxing shot of an Ezo squirrel watching over the vast city and nature from a tree!
If you are a resident of Hokkaido, you have probably seen an Ezo squirrel at least once.
They do not hibernate, but grow winter fur to protect themselves from the winter cold, and their long ears are very cute!
