The night view is also romantic and recommended! Arashiyama Observatory" overlooking Asahikawa city center

Asahikawa Ramen and Asahiyama Zoo are probably on the top of many people's list of things to do when they think of visiting Asahikawa City. One of these attractions is the Arashiyama Observatory, introduced here.

The view from the observatory is outstanding, and the wind blowing through the air is very pleasant.
Let's step into a spot that is not well known except to locals.
Arashiyama Observatory is located in Arashiyama Park, which was developed and opened in 1965 as a recreational area for citizens. A reinforced concrete observatory was built in 1966, and was replaced by the current observatory in 2004.
The view from the observatory is exceptional, offering a panoramic view of Asahikawa city. To the southeast, the winding Ishikari River can be seen, and to the northeast, the countryside spreads out below. At night, you can enjoy both the night view of the city and the starry sky, creating a luxurious and romantic atmosphere.
It is about 500 meters from the parking lot to the observatory, and the promenade is well maintained, so anyone can easily visit. However, visitors who come for the night view will need to bring a flashlight, as there are no streetlights. Also, please note that snow is not removed during the winter.
By the way, "Arashiyama" is a famous place name in Kyoto, but why was this area in Asahikawa City called "Arashiyama"? The origin of the name dates back to the Meiji Era (1868-1912). It is commonly believed that it is because the view of Ishikari River and Daisetsuzan seen from the top resembles the view of Kamo River and Hieizan seen from the top of Arashiyama in Kyoto.

Incidentally, "Arashiyama and the view from Arashiyama" has been selected as one of the eight best views of Asahikawa. Arashiyama Park and Arashiyama Observatory are often used for field trips by nearby kindergartens and elementary schools. Why not share some of the view that has been enjoyed by the locals since ancient times when you visit the area for sightseeing?
