3 "The 40th Jozankei Onsen Keiryu Koinobori": A Traditional Spring Event in Sapporo's Famous Hot Spring Retreat

This is a traditional spring event held in Jozankei Onsen, Sapporo's beloved hot spring retreat. As the landscape transitions from lingering snow on the mountains to cherry blossoms and fresh green foliage, the sight of about 400 koinobori (carp streamers) swimming in the sky above the hot spring town creates a dynamic spring spectacle.

The koinobori on display are cherished items donated by families from all over Hokkaido. Their vibrant colors fill the sky, delighting visitors to the onsen town. Towards the end of the event, the beautifully pale "Haru Momiji" (spring foliage) also comes into season, offering a chance to enjoy the unique natural beauty of this period alongside the cherry blossoms and new buds.
