New Cafe Opens in Obihiro's Tokachi-mura! Popular Spot Relaunches with a New Name and Location, Featuring Specialty Coffee, Sweets, and Must-Try Soft Serve
A Cozy Space Perfect for a Quick Break
Originally a popular cafe in Obihiro called "sun," it has started anew as "UNSUNG COFFEE STAND" with a new name and location, but keeping the same menu and coffee base. This new shop is a powered-up version, building on the knowledge and experience gained at sun. The name "Unsung" means "not yet celebrated" or "nameless but valuable." It's a fitting name for a coffee stand that quietly yet surely supports people's time.
The welcoming entrance makes it easy to drop by
The first thing you notice when you stand in front of the shop is its red exterior and the warm, wood-based space. Step inside, and you'll find a comfortable atmosphere where you can relax without any pretense. It has that "just right" feeling, with places to sit for a moment. It's less a place to linger for hours and more a spot you'd want to drop by during a drive or when you need a quick break.
Relax and unwind in the spacious cafe area at the back
The owner, Ai-san, once had an experience abroad where kind words saved her and "made it a very good day." That's why she greets everyone who comes to her shop with a beaming smile and conversation, hoping to "help them have the best day possible."

Exquisite Specialty Coffee & Sweets
The delicious "Iced Caffè Latte" with a hint of bitterness, 650 yen
The menu features hand-dripped specialty coffee from Miyanomori Alchemist Coffee, as well as Americano, Caffè Latte, Vanilla Latte, and Matcha Latte. It's great to be able to choose according to your mood for the day.
Choose your hand-drip coffee from "Brazil Dark Roast" (550 yen) or "Nicaragua Medium-Light Roast" (700 yen)
The "Matcha Latte" (750 yen) is available hot or iced. Stir it for the perfect sweetness ◎
They also offer baked goods and sweets that pair perfectly with coffee, allowing you to drop by and unwind for a bit. The lineup is a delightful surprise each day, as they are the owner's whimsical creations. Among them, the classic "Chunky Cookie" is highly recommended! It's thick, crispy on the outside, and moist on the inside. It's a grown-up treat with a hint of saltiness that's not just sweet, and it goes perfectly with coffee.
The popular "Chunky Cookie," 350 yen. It would also make a great souvenir.
New on the Menu: Soft Serve Made with Milk from Asunaro Farm in Tokachi Shimizu Town
From left: "Chocolate Fudge Brownie" (380 yen) and "Butter Bar" (350 yen). They're quite substantial, so sharing is a good idea ◎
Currently, they are operating while gathering feedback on which menu items customers want to see return or try for the first time. A new menu will launch in late April, featuring soft serve made with milk from Asunaro Farm. The incredibly smooth texture, created with a top-of-the-line Carpigiani soft serve machine, is also something to look forward to.
Both baked goods and drinks are available for takeout
Whether you're in the middle of sightseeing, visiting Banei Tokachi, or just feel like going out for coffee, UNSUNG COFFEE STAND is a place in Obihiro that gently fits into your daily life.
