A Happy Morning Starts with Delicious Jam: Find Your Favorite at Furano's Specialty Jam Shop!
When you're there, you'll surely want to bring back a souvenir that's unique to the area.
For that, we highly recommend "Auntie Jam's Jam Workshop," the direct-sales shop of the "Furano Jam Garden," which produces a wide variety of jams.
The colorful jams, reminiscent of Furano's scenic landscapes, make for a delightful gift that is sure to please. Let's take a look at what kind of jams they have in store.
The Furano Jam Garden, home to Auntie Jam's Jam Workshop (hereafter referred to as the Jam Workshop), was originally established as a farm in 1974. At the farm, non-standard carrots were being discarded. After much trial and error to find a use for these carrots, the Carrot Honey Jam was born in 1982. This marked the beginning of the Jam Workshop.
The additive-free jams made at the farm gained popularity in no time. They began to be sold in hotels and department stores, and finally, in 1988, the farm was rebranded as the "Furano Jam Garden."
Today, a visit to the Jam Workshop will overwhelm you with the sheer variety of its offerings. It's quite astonishing to learn that there are 38 different kinds of jam available for regular sale.

They also offer beautifully wrapped jam sets, which are perfect for souvenirs. Of course, you'll undoubtedly want to buy some for yourself too. So, we asked the staff which jam is the most popular. The answer was... the "Haskap Jam" (864 yen, tax included)!

It seems that jams with a distinctively Hokkaido flavor are the most popular. The Haskap Jam has an exquisite balance of sweetness and tartness, and is said to pair well not only with bread but also with yogurt and cream cheese. Having this one jam is sure to elevate your breakfast table.

In addition to jams, the Jam Workshop also features about 100 items across 70 different product types, including dressings and miso. Further inside, there is a corner called "Auntie Jam's Sweets Workshop," where you can enjoy unique sweets like Croissant Catalana and Haskap au Lait.
Be sure to explore every corner of the store to fully appreciate all the charms the Jam Workshop has to offer. You'll find so much to look at that time will fly by before you know it.
