Sapporo Event: Free Admission! A Downtown Outdoor Concert Featuring 12 Hokkaido Artists, Food Trucks, and Craft Stalls
12 Artists with Hokkaido Roots to Perform at a Downtown Sapporo Outdoor Concert!
Gaku Wakatsuki, performing from 4:00 PM on Saturday the 27th
――What inspired you to plan this event?
Ikuma Kawakami (hereafter, Kawakami): This event is produced in cooperation with Eggs, an organization that supports the musical activities of indie and emerging artists. It was planned with the desire to expand opportunities for artists connected to Hokkaido to deliver their music on a street stage. I think it's a rare chance to enjoy a live performance in a well-equipped sound environment right in the center of Sapporo, and outdoors at that. I hope it becomes an opportunity for people to discover the music of up-and-coming young artists.
――What kind of performers will be there?
Kawakami: We'll have a total of 12 acts, six each day. The lineup includes Yuzu Minato, a 19-year-old singer-songwriter active in Tokyo; Gaku Wakatsuki, the vocalist of the 주목받는 young Sapporo-based band KOHAKU; Sakura Hiraike, a singer-songwriter from Takikawa City; and Hina Kobashi, who has a solo concert coming up on July 3rd. Admission is free, so you can come and watch as you please.
More Than Just Music! Enjoy Food Trucks, Craft Stalls, and Even an Outdoor BBQ
Yuzu Minato, performing from 4:00 PM on Sunday the 28th
――So there are other booths to enjoy besides the music?
Kawakami: Under the theme of "Fashion x Food," the food truck "dog kuu Do!" will be there, selling vintage clothing and hot dogs. We'll also have handmade craft booths, including "MADE BY WASHI!" which sells humorous character goods, and "nui nui," which sells original, quirky plush toys. Additionally, there's the "anaBa Yakiniku" corner, which just started this month, where you can enjoy Jingisukan (Mongolian BBQ) and yakiniku outdoors. Of course, you don't need to bring a thing. Grills and other equipment are provided, so you can just show up and have fun.
