At Tokachigawa Onsen, you can see the "Yume-botaru" (Dream Fireflies), which were raised in Japan's first 100% hot spring water stream, created with the passionate desire to revive the Heike firefly population. It is said that the Yume-botaru, raised in the high-quality Moor Onsen, have a longer light emission interval than other Heike fireflies.

2. Learn About the Ecology of Fireflies in the Wetlands: "Firefly Weekend" (Tsurui Village)

At the Onnenai Visitor Center in Tsurui Village, which hosts the "Firefly Weekend," you can attend a lecture on the mysterious ecology and habitat of the Heike fireflies that live in the Kushiro Wetland. Guided tours are also available, allowing you to discover the unique drama of the fireflies of the Kushiro Wetland.

3. Light Reflected on a Natural River: "Firefly Viewing Party" (Hidaka Town)

The historic park at the site of the Shiraoi Sendai Clan Jinya (encampment), completed in the late Edo period, is now designated as the largest historic site in Hokkaido.
