Hakodate MOMI-G (Momiji) Festa" is a light-up event held at Kosetsuen (in Miharu Park), Hakodate's most famous autumn foliage viewing spot. About 150 kinds of trees are planted on the vast site, including mountain maples and Iroha maples. The 100-meter-long maple trees and other trees are lit up every day, creating a fantastic atmosphere around the park.

Along the illuminated path, there are many other attractions besides the autumn leaves, including a precious brick greenhouse and a shoin-style garden pavilion with a tea ceremony room style. The pavilion is open for tours, so visitors can take their time to view the autumn leaves from inside.

At the "Hokuto Autumn Leaves Corridor," visitors can enjoy the fantastic sight of autumn leaves illuminated by light reflected on the surface of the swamp water like a mirror. Hachironuma Park, the venue of the event, is a vast 11-hectare site with approximately 2,000 maple, azalea, cherry, and other trees, which usually change their leaves from mid-October to early November.

While the maple trees and other broadleaf trees around the swamp are beautiful during the day when they are in full color, you can also have a fantastic and romantic time at night when they are lit up. In addition, on Fridays through Sundays and holidays, there are booths where you can enjoy the delicious gourmet food of Hokuto City while viewing the autumn leaves.
