'rosa rugosa' - Organic Cosmetics Featuring the Hamanasu Rose [Hokkaido Cosmetics Review]

Cosmetic brands born in Hokkaido are gaining attention. The ingredients from plants that grow strong in the harsh northern land help solve skin troubles, making them an indispensable part of our daily lives. Today, I'd like to introduce you to some of these Hokkaido cosmetics!

This time, I'm introducing "rosa rugosa," an organic cosmetic brand from Urahoro Town, Hokkaido. It's characterized by its use of Hamanasu (Japanese rose), the town flower of Urahoro, and other natural ingredients.

When you think of Hamanasu, you might think of its rich vitamin C content, and many people enjoy it as rose hip tea. But you must be curious about how it feels when used in cosmetics, right? I'll share my personal experience after trying it out!

1. Lotion (Toner)

This very rich, thick toner deeply penetrates the skin. Especially during the dry winter season, when you want the toner to reach the inner layers of your skin, I recommend applying a generous amount to your hands and gently pressing it into your face, rather than using a cotton pad.

Another point I love is that its scent is incredibly close to that of fresh Hamanasu, more so than other products. It provides a relaxing effect while I do my skincare routine!

2. Milky Lotion (Emulsion)

This has a very moisturizing feel and can also be used as a base before makeup. If you mix it with a liquid foundation, it enhances adhesion, creating a super-strong foundation that resists smudging and rubbing from masks in the winter.

3. Serum

Perhaps because it's formulated with naturally derived beauty ingredients, I felt my skin recovered faster even when I got pimples. So, at night, I take more time, apply a generous amount of the serum to my hands, let it slowly absorb, and enjoy my skincare routine while imagining my skin becoming clear and beautiful. It's great for building strong skin that can withstand the cold winter wind! It adheres to the skin very well, so it can also be used before makeup.

4. Hand Cream

The naturally derived oils increase the skin's moisture content, keeping it soft and smooth. Let's enjoy marshmallow-soft skin this winter, free from chapping and dryness, with just this one product! The beautiful red packaging, inspired by the Hamanasu harvested in Urahoro Town, makes you want to give it as a gift to someone special.

5. Bar Soap (Face Wash)

As this soap is excellent for moisturizing, I recommend washing your face after creating a dense lather with lukewarm water. It leaves your skin feeling supple and not tight after washing, creating a 'mochi-mochi' (plump and bouncy) texture that allows toner to absorb easily. It reminds me that good skincare starts with rethinking your face wash!

So, what did you think? We'll still need to wear masks for a while, and our skin is feeling the stress again this winter. Let's enjoy building skin that can beat the cold by strengthening it from the inside with the power of Hamanasu grown in the harsh northern land, and gently enveloping it from the outside with gentle, naturally derived ingredients.

The rosa rugosa cosmetics introduced here can be purchased from the official website. They also make a great gift for someone special!
