Mikasa City is working with Muroran Institute of Technology to verify various technologies for producing clean hydrogen, such as "underground coal gasification" and "underground fixation of carbon dioxide," with the aim of creating an industry through underground coal gasification.

This year, we successfully conducted an experiment to directly gasify coal seams and produce hydrogen from this gas. Since then, we have been selected for a subsidized project by the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO), and we are currently conducting research and studies toward a series of demonstration experiments, from hydrogen production to its utilization.

This time, we will report on our efforts to underground coal gasify, which is a big step towards developing a city that uses hydrogen. We look forward to seeing you there.
