Doushin BIZ Future Conference to Consider Hokkaido's Oceans -Possibilities and Future Outlook of Blue Carbon in Hokkaido-

Date and Time

2024/3/15

13:30-17:00 (doors open 13:00)

A must-see for local government officials, fishing industry personnel, and companies aiming for carbon-free management!

In recent years, with the growing interest in carbon neutrality, blue carbon ecosystems have been attracting attention as a source of greenhouse gas absorption. However, problems have arisen such as the shrinking of Hokkaido's natural kelp and other seaweed beds due to rising sea levels and coastal denudation. The shrinking of seaweed beds not only reduces the amount of CO2 absorbed, but also has a major impact on the marine ecosystems that serve as nurseries and spawning grounds for aquatic organisms. Therefore, we are holding this event with the aim of providing an opportunity to learn and think about the conservation and restoration of seaweed beds and the promotion of blue carbon. Please feel free to join us!
