Our city is called "City of Rivers" and many rivers flow through the city, including the Ishikari River and its tributaries, the Biei River and the Chubetsu River. These river spaces are used by many citizens as places to relax, commune with nature, and hold events, as well as to control the rapid rise in water levels when the rivers rise due to heavy rains.
