"Drift Ice Day" was established in 2007 as a day to review the global environment and the Okhotsk region through drift ice. This bus tour is held in commemoration of Drift Ice Day, and aims to deepen understanding of the appeal and importance of drift ice through experiences and lectures.

■ Capacity: 20 people (If there are a large number of applicants, we will hold a lottery to check whether the participation conditions are met.)
■ Target
Anyone who lives in the Okhotsk region, is a member of the Okhotsk Drift Ice Trust Support Group, and meets the conditions for participation (if you apply through the application form, you will be automatically registered with the Okhotsk Drift Ice Trust Support Group). *The Okhotsk Drift Ice Trust Support Group is a free network that irregularly distributes e-mail newsletters with information on drift ice, etc.
■Conditions for participation: (These are the conditions required to participate in the drift ice walk)
・Elementary school students and under 70 years old
・Height 130cm~190cm, weight 110kg or less
・Able to walk on one's own and have no concerns about physical fitness in daily life
・Not pregnant or suffering from a fracture

＜Contents＞
■Tour of the Shiretoko World Heritage Center: Learn about the connection to drift ice and Shiretoko through lectures by center staff and watching videos.
■Ice drift walk: Under the guidance of a private guide, you will put on a dry suit and experience walking on the ice.
*Dry suits will be provided free of charge by the guide company.

■ Steps to participate
・Applications open on Wednesday, January 8th
・Application deadline: Wednesday, February 5th
・February 7th (Friday) - Notification of participant selection
・February 16th (Sunday)
*If there are more applicants than the target number, the Regional Promotion Bureau will check whether the participants meet the participation conditions and select participants by lottery.
*The lottery results will be sent to the email address you registered when applying.
*Participants are required to take out domestic travel insurance by the date of the event.
