PMF is a classical music festival with many fans looking forward to attending multiple performances during its approximately one-month run. It is an international educational music festival that was started in 1990 at the suggestion of composer and conductor Leonard Bernstein to nurture young musicians from around the world. Young people aspiring to become performers and the top professors who teach them gather from all over the world, and performances are held mainly in Sapporo city.

The venue is Sapporo Concert Hall Kitara, but you can also listen to performances outdoors at the Sapporo Art Park Outdoor Stage, and there are many free performances planned so you can enjoy classical music casually.
