Overview

This festival, which is held every July and marks its 48th year, takes place at Sapporo Yonban-gai Shopping Arcade (Sapporo Hokoten/Yonban-gai Shopping Arcade Pedestrian Paradise), Hokkaido's largest shopping arcade, which stretches from Ekimae-dori/Minami-Odori to Susukino intersection in Sapporo.

The national highway (Ekimae-dori) becomes a pedestrian paradise for one day, and in addition to the parade of the "Yonban-gai Hanjo Mikoshi," the festival attracts many people of all ages and genders as it is a "participatory" festival where you can experience traditional festivals and Japanese culture while enjoying a variety of performances such as a festival corner and street performances.
