This autumn arts festival began in 2005. For a month, the city of Sapporo is adorned with art, including fine arts, theater, and music. The festival is packed with events, including the Sapporo Theater Festival, where over 30 groups perform original works; Art Street, where nationally active artists exhibit their works in the underground pedestrian space in front of Sapporo Station; Crossroads Live, where musicians from Hokkaido perform live; and the Sapporo School Music Festival, where elementary, junior high, and high school brass bands from the city perform choruses and brass bands at the Kitara Concert Hall. From children to professionals, local residents and artists come together to enjoy the arts.
