Lecture by Taichi Goto: "Rethinking the Value of Area Management: Its Value from the Field and Its Significance as an Urban Strategy"
Date and Time
2026/1/14
14:00-15:30 (doors open 13:30)
It has been more than 15 years since area management initiatives began in central Sapporo.
In each area of the city, efforts are being made to utilize public spaces, create public-private partnerships, and launch unique local projects.
On the other hand, common practical concerns continue to be faced, such as the difficulty of measuring improvements in regional value, the difficulty of seeing the results of urban development, and the difficulty of putting the purpose and value of activities into words.
This time, we have invited Taichi Goto, author of "Urban Regeneration as a Business Strategy - Practice and Methods of Team Area Management." The perspective of "area management as a team" presented in this book is also an important key to moving regions to the next stage.
In the second half of the session, we will hold a mini-discussion with all participants.
Anyone can participate, including those working in the field, government officials, private companies, students, and those interested in urban development. Please apply.
