The lineup is packed with events, including a performance of the classic "The Bear" by Pocket Planning, a live collaboration of music, sand art and dance, and a talk event that delves into Chekhov from a specialist perspective.
Chekhov's world, which depicts the warmth, humor, and loveliness of human life amid the bitter cold of the northern lands, quietly resonates with Sapporo in February. Enjoy a moment of laughter, a little sadness, and a lingering feeling in your heart at Theater Zoo in winter.

【program】
■ Live performance "Shadows of the Frozen Earth: Sand Art, Body, Overtones"
A collaboration of heterogeneous expressions. Ephemeral light and shadow, dynamic bodies and words, and the distant sounds of the Far East resonate together, highlighting the subtleties of human nature hidden in Chekhov's work.

● Sand art x Morin Khuur "Monk in Black"
Cast: Nohana Minami... Takako Saga [sand art performance and reading], Haruhiko Saga [morin khuur]

● Dance x Music "About the Harms of Smoking"
Featuring: Sakurai Hiro [dance], Saga Haruhiko [morin khuur, throat singing, mouth harp, doshipururu]

■ Theater: "Kuma" (Pocket Planning)
Popova, a widow, has been staying at home since her husband died. Her servant, Luca, advises her to go out and clear her mind. Then, the landlord, Smirnov, arrives, saying he has something important to discuss. Popova refuses to meet him, but after a brief greeting, Smirnov asks for repayment of the money he lent to her late husband. The argument that begins thus turns into a fierce clash of their respective views of men and women, and in the end, Popova calls Smirnov a "vicious bear"...
Pocket Kikaku will be performing a short comedy written by Chekhov when he was 28 years old!
