SPOT
Sapporo Sewerage Science Museum
A science museum where visitors can enjoy learning about the mechanisms and roles of the sewerage system and feel familiar with the water environment.
This science museum aims to help elementary school students and their families enjoy understanding and learning about the mechanisms and roles of the sewerage system that they may or may not know.
On the first floor, a graphic depiction of the river's flow covers the entire floor, and in some areas, fish, birds, and other creatures living in the Toyohira River pop up when visitors approach.
On the second floor, visitors can simulate the work being done at a sewerage facility, including a simulation of the operation of the Water Reclamation Plaza, which cleans sewage, and a TV camera truck that inspects and investigates the inside of sewer pipes. This facility allows children to think about water environment issues through the sewerage system.
