Bikaho Park
A popular park with excellent sports facilities where you can enjoy the four seasons of Sapporo and skate
Bikaho Park is located in a quiet residential area. The name "MIKAHO" comes from the first letters of the surnames of three people who donated the land. The 80,000-square-meter site has a baseball field, tennis courts, gymnasium (summer), and skating rink (winter; curling can also be used). From June to October, a small zoo appears on the grounds, where visitors can interact with chipmunks, goats, and other animals. In autumn, the ginkgo trees turn into a colorful foliage spot, and in winter, visitors can enjoy playing in the snow on the ski mountain.
The Mikaho Gymnasium, located within the park, has been used as the official venue for the 1972 Sapporo Olympics and other winter games. Visitors can relax in Bikaho Park throughout the four seasons while experiencing the daily life of the citizens. It is also a good place to take a short break from sightseeing in Sapporo.
