SPOT
Ginkgo Avenue at Hokkaido University
Ginkgo trees line both sides of Kita 13-jo Street on the Hokkaido University campus. These trees were planted around 1939. They transform into a green tunnel in the summer and a golden tunnel in the fall, delighting the eyes of visitors.
If you go 50 meters north from Ono Pond, you will come across a magnificent row of ginkgo trees heading east. This is the road that leads to Kita 13-jo Gate. There are 70 ginkgo trees planted on both sides of the road, which is about 380 meters long, and in autumn it is a magnificent golden color.
