Yoneda Goten
Overview
Yoneda Goten was built in 1922 by Tsunesaku Yoneda, a resident of Okube Village, as a guest house for Count Yoshimitsu Yanagihara, a member of the Imperial Family and a member of the House of Peers, who visited the village (which was then Okube Village), using his own forest as materials to welcome the Count. Since about 70 years have passed since its construction, it was designated as the first historical heritage of the town of Kōbe on October 1, 1989, in accordance with the Kōbe Town Ordinance for the Preservation of Historical Heritage, and is to be preserved for future generations.
