SPOT
Lake Sillartoro
A waterfowl paradise visited by swans and other birds
It has a circumference of 9.8 km, an area of 1.8 km2, and a maximum depth of 3 meters.
It is said to be a sea-rock lake, and still retains the appearance of what is said to be the first century of the marshland. Around the "Reisen Bridge" across Lake Shirartoro, the lake water never freezes even in midwinter, attracting swans and Steller's sea eagles. In winter, you can also enjoy fishing for wakasagi (smelt).
