Wild Bird Forest
Overview
This forest is a 1.7-kilometer section with two scenic paths, one up and one down, connecting Lake Shikotsu and Nakamorup, with interpretation boards and pavilions along the way. The surface of Lake Shikotsu shines through the trees, and surrounding mountains such as Mt. The upper and lower scenic trails meet at two points. The upper scenic route is narrow and has many ups and downs, so it is better to use the lower route to get to Nakamorap with relative ease. This scenic trail continues for another 2 kilometers to the Morap Campground, but is currently only open to Nakamorap due to a large rock blocking the path. On clear days, visitors can enjoy forest bathing and bird watching.
