Overview

The Chitose City Center for Archaeological and Cultural Properties introduces the history of Chitose and its buried cultural properties through earthenware, stoneware, and other artifacts excavated in Chitose City, as well as interpretive panels. Animal-shaped clay artifacts and replicas of clay masks, which are nationally designated Important Cultural Properties, and male clay figures and polished stone poles, which are city-designated cultural properties, are also on display.
