rice bran flat lake
Overview
Nukabira Lake is an artificial dam lake completed in 1956.
In autumn, the autumn-colored trees are reflected beautifully on the lake surface.
Anglers also can enjoy year-round. In winter, smelt fishing can be done from above the frozen lake surface, and in summer, fishing for cherry salmon, rainbow trout, etc. can also be enjoyed.
The place where Nukabira Lake is, was originally a forest, and trees were cut down and a dam was built. There is a phenomenon where the frozen ice of Nukabira Lake rests on the tree stumps of the cut-down trees. From the fact that the appearance of that ice looks just like a mushroom's cap, it is called "Mushroom Ice".
