Shigenai Shrine is located in the Shigenai district of Chonai Town. Behind the main shrine there is a 200-step staircase, and from the shrine pavilion at the top of the staircase, you can see the view of the road stretching straight to the sea.

Next to the shrine is the Shigenai Observatory, from which you can enjoy a panoramic view of the Shigenai Plain and the Tsugaru Straits, and in spring, a panoramic view of the cherry blossom trees in full bloom, which line the 3-km straight road with about 500 trees.
