Peace Memorial Hall
was established on the anniversary of the end of the war in 1983. The museum exhibits numerous works of art and crafts created out of a desire for anti-war and peace, such as the "A-Bomb Figure, Mother and Child" by Maruki Tadashi and Satoshi Satoshi. A number of rare antiquities not found anywhere else are on display, including Enku's "Seated Kannon" and Buddhist statues from India and the West during the Muromachi period (1336-1573). In the sculpture garden in the front yard, works by Arata Hongo, a world-renowned sculptor from Hokkaido, pray for peace.
