Matsuyama Marsh
This 797-meter-high high-rise marsh is a Hokkaido Nature Conservation Area and one of the 500 most important wetlands in Japan. A 900-meter trail leading up from the Tenryu-numa parking lot offers fantastic and mysterious scenery, and a walking trail, a wooden path, has been established for visitors to casually enjoy nature.
There is also a promenade at the foot of Tenryu Swamp, which is barrier-free and wheelchair-accessible.
Visitors can experience a guided nature walk in Matsuyama Marsh, a Hokkaido Nature Conservation Area and one of the 500 most important wetlands in Japan.
The trail on the 797-meter-high, 25-hectare high-altitude marshland takes about 30 minutes one way, making it a safe course even for beginners. You can enjoy trekking while observing rare plants such as alpine flora and dwarf red spruce and Japanese spruce distributed near the top of the mountain.
