SPOT
Kamifurano Kaitakushi Kinenkan (Kamifurano Town Kaitakushi Memorial Hall)
This cultural facility was built in 1997 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the town, when eight members of a party from Mie Prefecture settled in this area (present Kusabu district, Kamifurano Town) in 1897.
This building is a very valuable building that survived the mudslide that hit the village in 1926, and is a reconstruction of the house of Teijiro Yoshida, the mayor of the village at that time, who was busy with the reconstruction from the mudslide caused by the eruption of Mount Tokachi in 1926.
