Muroran Citizen's Art Museum was established in 2008 (Heisei 20) to provide the citizens of Muroran with opportunities to experience art widely. The museum has a collection of about 500 works of art, including paintings, prints, calligraphy, photographs, and sculptures, mainly by artists associated with Muroran, and introduces them in the permanent exhibition with different themes from various angles.
In addition, the museum has an open gallery that can be used as a place for citizens to present their creations, and offers hands-on learning opportunities related to art.
