Poroto Forest and the adjacent Lake Poroto are peaceful lakes that symbolize Shiraoi. The lake has a variety of seasonal changes from spring with budding young leaves, to summer with deep green, autumn with red leaves, and winter with snowy scenery. Canoeing in summer and wakasagi (Japanese smelt) fishing in winter are also available, so please enjoy the view of the Poroto forest from the lake. The Lake Poroto Loop Road is a popular spot for strolling.
