Obsidian Outcrops
Overview
You can see the powerful obsidian lava produced by the eruption of once gooey magma. During the Paleolithic period, obsidian was used as a material for stone tools and was indispensable for people to survive. The Hachigosawa outcrop is the place where the story of people's life with obsidian began. To visit the obsidian outcrops, you need to apply for a tour at the "Engaru Town Archaeological Center".
