Nakashibetsu Midorigaoka Forest Park Campground
Midorigaoka Forest Park is a 57-hectare park adjacent to the northern part of the city, a 30-minute walk (approx. 3 km) from the city center, and is a recreational area for town residents with camping facilities. The forest campground covers an area of 16,800 square meters, with a central plaza and playground equipment. Most of the park is an unspoiled natural forest where visitors can enjoy a variety of trees throughout the four seasons, centering on Mizunara oak, Japanese white birch, Katsura katsura, and Harunire elm. The park's forest trails are 6 km long, and visitors can fully enjoy forest bathing while enjoying the changes in the terrain, including a hill from which they can see the town, an azumaya that offers a panoramic view of the Shiretoko mountain range, and a wooden trail where they can observe the flowers and grasses in the marshlands.
