"Tokoro Archaeological Forest" is, among the National Historic Site "Tokoro Remains," the area on a plateau facing Lake Saroma (total area 120,822 square meters) that was maintained for viewing.

■Exhibition Facilities・Research Facilities
As facilities that can be visited, there are "Tokoro Archaeological Museum," "Tokoro Buried Cultural Properties Center," and "University of Tokyo Tokoro Materials Exhibition Hall."
Tokoro Archaeological Museum: It is the central exhibition facility located at the entrance of Tokoro Archaeological Forest.
Tokoro Buried Cultural Properties Center: It is a facility that conducts the storage of materials and experiential learning.
University of Tokyo Faculty of Letters Tokoro Materials Exhibition Hall: It is an exhibition facility operated by the University of Tokyo Tokoro Fieldwork Facility.

■Archaeological Sites
Inside a deciduous forest mainly consisting of Daimyo oak and oak, settlement remains from the Jomon period, Epi-Jomon period, and Satsumon period are spread out, and walking paths for strolling are provided. Also, adjacent to the archaeological site, archaeological exhibition facilities and research facilities are co-located. Inside the forest, numerous wild birds and wild plants, etc., can be seen seasonally, and it can also be used as a place for nature observation.
Satsumon Village: It is a settlement remains from the Satsumon period.
Epi-Jomon Village・Jomon Village: It is a settlement remains from the Jomon to Epi-Jomon period.
