SPOT
Seseki Hot Springs
Seseki Onsen is located about 22km north from Rausu city on Route 87, about 2km from the end of the road, at Aidomari.
Although it is called a hot spring, it is not an inn, but rather a simple structure made of stones in the sea. It is a dynamic hot spring full of wildness, and depending on the tide it can be inaccessible (it is submerged in the sea at high tide) or too hot (as the 64°C spring water does not become diluted at low tide).
It has become known nationwide after appearing in the TV drama "From the North Country," and is now visited by hot spring and secret hot spring lovers from all over Japan.
Seseki Onsen requires some skill to enter, so we recommend you get some information from related websites before you try it.
*The hot spring is located on land managed by kelp fishermen, so please let us know before entering. Please be mindful of the rules when bathing.
