SPOT
Seseki Waterfall
This waterfall, where melted snow from the Shiretoko mountain range falls from a height of 30 meters, is Seseki Waterfall, which means "hot spring" in the Ainu language. As the name implies, there is a hidden hot spring called "Seseki Onsen" on the coast ahead, which is submerged in the sea at high tide.
The coarse flow of water over a large rock face, combined with the surrounding scenery, is quite powerful. Depending on the volume of water, there are splashes all the way to the road (Route 87).
The icefall in winter is also very picturesque. Be sure to visit in both summer and winter.
