Furusato Kan JRY (Tonden History Museum)

A history museum where visitors can experience the life of Tonden soldiers

This local museum was built in a corner of Tulip Park.
Inside the bare concrete building, which gives the impression of the near future, is a museum of the history of the Tonden Soldiers.

Recommendations
JRY recommends that visitors experience the life of Tondenhei soldiers in a replica of a Tondenya.
Visitors can experience the clothing, food, and shelter of the Yubetsu pioneer period, including chopping wood, making a fire, and experiencing the clothing and meals of the Tondenbei.
The purpose of this program is to let children know that the ancient Japanese way of life was a wonderful one.
A diorama that follows the history of the Tondabetsu Village and displays tools and daily necessities used during the pioneering period will make visitors feel as if they have stepped back in time.
Even those who are not interested in history will find themselves engrossed in the museum and naturally learn about it.
The name JRY (Jerry) is derived from the following two words,
 J=Jewel (treasure)
 R = Roots (Ancestors) Record
 Y = Yubetsu Farmer-Solidier
Y = Yubetsu Farmer-Solidier (Yubetsu Farmer-Soldier)
