SPOT
Mountain Aquarium (Aquarium of the Northern Lands)
This is one of the few freshwater aquariums in Japan that features a collection of freshwater fish. The sight of Japan's largest freshwater fish, the Itou, said to be a phantom fish, swimming in a school is particularly breathtaking.
The world's first "Four Seasons of the Northern Land," which freezes in winter, reproduces the natural rivers of Hokkaido, and features innovative world-class exhibits such as Japan's first "waterfall tank" that looks up at a waterfall basin from below. We invite you to experience it for yourself.
There are also aquariums of tropical freshwater fish from the Amazon, Asia, and other parts of the world, as well as a touch-and-feel corner.
