From the summit of Asahigaoka Park, you can see the Furano Basin and the Tokachi mountain range, and in spring, 3,000 cherry trees bloom in abundance. This scenic spot was selected as one of Japan's 100 most scenic spots in 1950, and is affectionately known by local residents as "Namakoyama." There is a park golf course and athletic facilities nearby, so you can enjoy other activities as well.

Kaguraoka Park is located in a hilly area just south of JR Asahikawa Station, across the Chubetu River. Every year from early to mid-May, it is a famous cherry blossom spot in the city, where many Siberian wild cherry trees bloom all at once. During the flowering season, many people from inside and outside the city visit the park, and the park is bustling with cherry blossom viewers.

3 Haboro Park Golf Course (Haburo Town) where you can enjoy park golf surrounded by blooming cherry blossoms

Haboro Park Golf Course is a generally flat course with 18 holes, and is a park golf course that can be enjoyed by beginners, people of all ages and genders. There are two courses, the Bocho Course and the Sakuraike Course, and as the name suggests, the Sakuraike Course is filled with cherry blossoms in full bloom in spring, allowing you to enjoy park golf in a beautiful setting.

4 Palette Hills (Takasu Town): A pink cherry blossom hill filled with events

Palette Hills is a place of relaxation that makes use of the rich nature of Takasu Town. From the observation deck you can get a panoramic view of the Daisetsuzan mountain range, and in May the hills are decorated with cherry blossoms in full bloom, during which time the Sakura Festival and Night Cherry Blossom Illumination events are held. In addition, stargazing, photography classes, music events and other activities that make use of the natural environment are also held.

5 A collaboration between cherry blossom trees and a railway: "Shiokari Pass Hitome Senbonzakura (Wassamu Town)"

Shiokari Pass has long been known as a famous cherry blossom viewing spot. In mid-May, the pass is covered with approximately 1,600 Ezoyama cherry trees, a sight to behold. Cherry trees are also planted on both sides of the 14km round trip road from Shiokari to Minamioka Forest Park, and special JR trains are also operated there, so Shiokari Pass is bustling with cherry blossom viewers.

6 Enjoy cycling surrounded by cherry blossoms on the "Sakura-lined Cycling Road (Utashinai City)"

The cycling road that runs through the city is lined with Ezo Yamazakura trees. In early May, the warm weather tempts the buds to burst into full bloom. You can enjoy walking or cycling through the tunnel of cherry blossoms that envelops the cycling road.

7 Sakurayama Park (Fukagawa City): Enjoy food and exercise while admiring the cherry blossoms

Sakurayama Park is a natural park known as one of the best cherry blossom viewing spots in the city. Every spring, the "Citizens' Cherry Blossom Festival" is held, and the park is crowded with many cherry blossom viewers who enjoy barbecues while looking at the cherry blossoms. Within the park, there is also a park golf course and the Sakurayama Power Up running course.

8 Tomei Park (Bibai City), a famous cherry blossom spot where you can enjoy cherry blossoms and the melodies of the four seasons

Tomei Park, located on a hill, is known as the best place in the Sorachi region to see cherry blossoms and azaleas, with about 2,000 cherry trees, including Somei Yoshino and Siberian cherry trees, blooming in spring, followed by azaleas. You can enjoy a panoramic view of the Sorachi Plain from the Space Carillon, which plays beautiful melodies for every season, and the "Hometown View Hill Observatory."

9 Nakafurano Forest Park (Nakafurano Town): A cherry blossom spot where you can also encounter Hokkaido squirrels

At the foot of Mt. Tokachi, you will find the rural landscape and flower gardens that spread out before you, and then you will reach Nakafurano Forest Park. In spring, cherry blossoms and tulips bloom, and in autumn, the area is enveloped in autumn leaves, creating a quiet and peaceful space. If you're lucky, you might even encounter a Hokkaido squirrel.

10 10. Higashiyama Juen (Shosanbetsu Village): A quiet cherry blossom road where you can enjoy a relaxing forest bath

Located about 10km from the Ariake area in the southern part of Shosanbetsu Village, this scenic spot allows you to enjoy a quiet forest bath. Approximately 1,200 cherry trees are planted along the road from the national highway to Higashiyama Juen, and during the flowering season in May, you can enjoy the cherry blossoms while driving.

11 The majestic Daisetsuzan mountain range and the tranquil scenery of blooming cherry blossoms at Murakamiyama Park (Pippu Town)

Murakamiyama Park opened as a park in May 1963, and in spring, about 400 cherry trees and azaleas bloom in profusion, all of which were planted to commemorate the establishment of the town in 1962. From the top, you can get a panoramic view of the town center, and in front of you you can see the majestic Daisetsuzan mountain range.
